Wiping phone and sd card, recover apps?

Buckeye Boy

i am wiping phone and sd card completely, when i re activate my phone will my apps be able to download automatically or do i have to download them one at a time?

If you are running 2.2 it should automatically download your apps given you sign in with the same gmail account.

i think it only does that with purchased ones. i use appbrain. download it and sync it. then you'll be able to recover the apps you want

It should download free and paid apps. You just have to enable the sync/backup under:

Settings > Privacy > Back up (and/or Auto-restore)

Then when you sign in and it starts downloading do not interrupt the process by opening the market app. It could take over 10 mins to download and re-install everything. This should work on anything over android 2.0 IIRC.

2.2 uses a google backup transport that will redonload all appss you had before the wipe - paid and free.

I know I did this on my Droid 1 prior to 2.2 -- free and paid. But the feature may have been improved in 2.2
