Wireless Charger - keep it plugged in?

I am getting used to my new Galaxy S6 which I bought at Costco last Thursday - an upgrade to the Motorola RAZR MAXX HD that I used for more than two years. Just today a Samsung Galaxy Wireless Charging Pad was delivered to my front door, and I've plugged it in and am charging the S6. A tiny "Quick Start Guide" about the size of three postage stamps came with the charging pad. It says, "Connect the travel adapter to the wireless charger." I don't know what a "travel adapter" is, but the charging disk came with a USB cord that plugs into a 110 volt plug, so I assume that's the "travel adapter." The guide goes on to say, "When the mobile device is fully charged, disconnect the travel adapter from the wireless charger." I was expecting to plug the charger into an electric plug and keep it plugged in at all times, regardless of whether or not I was charging my phone. If I have to unplug the charger when I'm not charging the phone, wouldn't that defeat the reason for having a wireless charger? It would take as much time and effort as just plugging a charging cord into my phone in the first place!

I purchased a 3rd party wireless charger and the instructions did not say to unplug it when finished either.
One thing that does concern me is the long term effect of the heat that builds up when wireless charging.
It's got to be degrading the battery to have the back of the phone reaching 120+ degrees on a regular basis. I tested a couple of other chargers including the ones in Starbucks and they all make the phone extremely hot.

My guess is this is another example of some lazy copying & pasting from a mfg/service provider.
I see it all the time on T-Mobile's site.
Some fun examples from the past include:
LG G FLEX: SD Card supports up to 32GB (no SD CARD slot in this universe w/this particular device,SMH)
Generic phone pouches listing tablets as compatible (they copied/pasted their entire inventory history,NO JOKE)

I have kept the Samsung wireless charger plugged in continuously since it arrived on July 26. It's on my desk, so it's very convenient to just set the phone on it from time to time. I haven't noticed any significant temperature increase while the phone is being charged. It might be a bit warmer than usual but certainly not hot.
