Wireless Charging

El Presidente

Beware The Milky Pirate!
I've seen several folk on various news sites, here and other forums etc claim they're not worried about their battery exploding because they're using the wireless charger.

Is this a proven "fix" that lessens the chance of the issue occurring or is this just an internet theory?

it's my understanding that samsung has stated for the record that a manufacturing defect from a specific supplier allows the batteries anode to come in contact with the batteries cathode during the charging process, which if you have seen this in rc plane and helicoptor batteries is a spectacular explosive event. i don't believe the method of charging here is relevant. neither samsung or the uscpsc have directed people to only charge wirelessly. that to me says that either method is dangerous if your battery is defective. at this point if it was me, i would charge my phone in a cheap walmart portable barbecue grill until i got a replacement. many rc plane and helicoptor pilots have burned down their homes charging their batteries usually after a crash at the field which damaged the battery.
