wireless mouse & keyboard

Have been wondering if I could hook up a regular wireless mouse and keyboard to my "Mini M8SPro" android box? I dont like the crappy remote that came with it, and I cant watch Netflix properly with the normal remote it came with. It seems to perform much better with some form of pointing device. But I really dont want to dish out alot of money for an air remote or a fancy wireless keyboard/touchpad

Actually I would prefer to simply use a wireless mouse. So to test it, I hooked up my "wired" computer mouse and hooked it up to Android box and to my surprise it worked fine. So my idea would be to use a regular "wireless" mouse without the keyboard at all. (I dont like using touchpads)

However, I came across a problem when using a regular mouse (the wired one ) besides it having a cord, When viewing Netflix, I could not side swipe to right or left to view the movies within its categories. I know the computer version of Netflix allows this by added mouse arrows to click. But none on the Android box version.

My question is, Is there a wireless mouse out there that can scroll left and right along with up and down? (Which of course can work with Android tv boxes also)

The problem with advanced pointing devices with additional functions is that they are TOO fast!
The best mouse to use with an Android TV box is the cheapest wireless mouse you can find.
This way it won't be too sensitive and jump around the screen every time you so much as touch it.

Scrolling left and right can be overcome simply by holding the left side of the mouse down and dragging.

I use a mini wireless kybd.. with touchpad... but you can use the arrow keys if you don't like using the touchpad... very versatile and under $20.

I got what you feeling, lol. I use air mouse C120 instead of those crappy IR remote. Very smooth control and it comes with keyboard function. Price is fair enough for just $15 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/LYNEC-C120-Portable-Wireless-3-Gravity/dp/B00RMX9H7A.

The problem that we cannot have Netflix, Amazon, and other streaming video apps for TV(most are tablet version) because they do the DRM which is digital right management. If we can have the TV version of those apps, the IR remote paired with box is good enough to side swipe to right or left to view the movies within its categories, otherwise we it is really sucks to use the normal remote. Hard to use!!!

What's more, the IR remote need you to point at box which is also tiresome. Hence, I would also like to use Bluetooth remote. Now only Apple TV, Google Nexus player, Amazon Fire TV, Mi box, and MEMOBOX UFO's remote has Bluetooth function. So if you want to go cheap one with IR, I recommend C12o; If you want to go cheap one with Bluetooth, I recommend MEMOBOX UFO($55). Considering it as a unique Christmas gift

That's excellent. Do you have a link for this, please? :D

here's an example link to amazon.ca If you live in the US or other country then use the amazon from your area. Most have rechargeable battery with USB charging cable... You can even order one that has a backlit kybd which is very handy. Just search thru amazon for what you like. good luck!! https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00KF9IVKC?psc=1

ps.. I also have an air mouse.. it needs to be pointed at the TV which can be tiresome.. I use it for my TV apps.. not my android... jmo ;-)

I think the microsoft Wedge touch mouse would be the perfect thing you are looking for. I used it on my Mi Box Android TV. Best ringtones - It took a couple tries to sync it to the bluetooth but it did and it will swipe left and right with your finger across the buttons. works very well. and it scrolls up and down when you swipe the middle froward and back.
