Wireless music tip

While idly playing with my Android 2.2 (2.29.405.2) Desire this afternoon I managed to link it to my HiFi via a Logitech Wireless Music Anywhere receiver.

Remarkably simple:
With the Logitech receiver active - WITHOUT the transmitter connected, connected to the HiFi, the phone's Bluetooth active, The bluetooth config screen open for pairing:

  • Hold the connect button on the receiver until the indicator light flashes alternately red/blue.

  • Swiftly scan for bluetooth devices, the receiver will be detected as Logitech STR01, and shown as connected but not paired.
  • on phone, hold finger on this connection and after a few seconds 3 options will be displayed on the screen. Select connect.
  • Start the music player of choice on your phone and the sound will be reproduce via your HiFi speakers - assuming HiFi set to do this of course!
  • Closing the player will break the connection requiring it be reset.
  • This allows us couch potatoes to stream music files or internet radio to the HiFi and control all from the phone without moving a muscle, or not many.
Merry Christmas to all.
