Won't connect to outside networks

My Samsung galaxy s2 will connect to the home wifi, but won't connect any where else even though my contract has unlimited wifi how can it work?
 
This has to be because of the networks you're song to connect to. Either you have the wrong passwords, or you're too far from the router
 
Also it could be a problem with firmware on the router. I had a router that used to do that. I fixed it by performing a firmware update.
