Help Won't play videos

I just want to watch YouTube.The phone (htc 601 on VM) acts like it wants to play the video but won't. Same results on wifi or 4g/3g. My friends s3 on verizon plays them ,do i need a flash player?

Hmmm... Had no problems like this, would try clearing the app cache and maybe doing a reboot of the phone. Also try force closing and rebooting the app. Also had youtube just be finicky at times but works mostly flawlessly.

Samsung's default video player is very forgiving on what video/codec it can playback.
HTC requires another video player from the google play store.

I'm using MX Player with my desire 601
with good results.

Sprint4g lte is really crappy in chicagoland almost can't play youtube download Paul app blue octopus choose the share option & choose download with paul.

If you're able to start the video and it craps out in the midst of playing, chances are that it's not a CODEC problem but a connectivity problem. Try turning off the Connections Optimizer as discussed in the thread "Wifi Problems" so that the phone doesn't constantly try to switch between mobile and wifi networks in the midst of streaming.
