Help Working google FRP bypass or will ROOT do the job?

I bought a MetroPCS LG K20 phone from a guy on the street...(what could go wrong?) well it has this Google FRP. Now back in the day I always rooted my Galaxy phones...but its been about 2 or 3 years.

My question(s):

1) Must I put in a sims card to use any RFP bypass? A link to a valid updated procedure to bypass?
2) Can I simply ROOT the phone and flash a new ROM? if yes a Link?

If it bricks it bricks whatever. I was simply planning on using it for music, podcasts, etc over wifi anyhow.

Honestly nobody here can answer that. FRP is always a touchy subject. The fact you bought it off someone off the street makes it even more likely it was stolen. Way or not soz.
