Worth it? Over the iPhone 6 and s5?

Waiting on this beast to show up in the US ... From all the reviews I have seen this is a great phone. I am coming from a galaxy S3 and a Nokia lumia.

I would be picking this or the new iPhone 6. The galaxy S5 does not seem to be worth it in my opinion. So now I have narrowed it down to those 2

Thoughts?

You're asking vegetarians whether string beans or a hot dog makes the best snack.

When you buy an iPhone, you're paying about 60% of the price for the phone and 40% of the price for the little apple emblem. Why not save the 40%?

I'm happy with my Z2, even coming from the Nexus phones.

I haven't used the S5 but I've never been in love with Samsung devices and don't see the S5 as much of an upgrade from an S4.

As for iPhone6, there are two things to consider. First it hasn't been released yet so we don't really know what it is like and second, the eco-system. Do you prefer or are already tied to Google Play or iTunes?

ya I had an S3 and it randomly died on me so I am not sure I want to go back ...

Ya there is still some unknowns for the iP6, but for the most part they have released the big things that will be included. The only thing I really like in the iP6 is that the screens are getting bigger. I need a bigger screen and with the 4.7" and 5.5" coming out it will be nice. Something around the 5" is a big thing for me.

I am not really tied to either Google play or Itunes .. I have Itunes for movies and stuff, but that is on the ipad and soon to be apple tv when the new one releases. my phone I do not care which one I use as I normally do not buy any apps that would need to transfer over

Here no...because we are mostly in the us the phone isn't here in the states combined with ask five American people on Facebook would they buy a Sony phone.. Good chance that they didn't even know sony had phones.. Hell people think that I am joking when I say...I have a Sony TL, lol sony don't make phones they make games.... But I am hoping tmobile pulls their heads out to smell the z2 I hope to have it January 2015...

Coming from a 5s, I'd say it's so much better than the iphone. 6 will probably just be the same thing but bigger, but I guess no one knows. Iphone does things very well, but is very basic in it's function. Btw, the camera on the z2 is amazing. Using it by the pool is priceless too.

Just got this phone 2 days ago.
Will let you know what I find. All I can say so far is that the design is excellent and stylish though I worry about its durability.

Ok, after almost a month owning and heavily using this phone:

Pros - stunning design, very fast performance, excellent waterproof ability, great call quality, great camera (important to me as a keen amateur photographer) with plenty of manual control, beautiful screen (excellent for watching movies and photo viewing), surprisingly robust considering the elegant design.

Cons - poor loud speakers, Sony UI is a bit dull, volume rocker is a touch small, absolute fingerprint magnet (mine is the all black model), some annoying and unremovable bloat ware.

I was worried about this phone being a bit fragile when I first got it as it's wafer thin, almost all glass construction suggests but I've now dropped it twice from about 4 ft and it's just got a tiny scratch in one of the corners on the aluminium part of the frame.

Haven't used the galaxy s5 or any iPhone but the Z2's design and aesthetics leave the plastic Samsung and boring apple phones for dead in my opinion.

Hands down, the best smart phone I've ever owned.

Nice review biancoceleste - is the battery life as good as they all say?

Thanks.

After over 2 months owning it now, I can tell you the battery life is great. I easily get 24 hrs with extremely heavy use (5.5 hrs screen on time).

Stamina mode is good too. I used it while camping recently with very limited charging opportunities and got 3 days out of a cycle.

I guess another gripe I have with this phone is that I wish it came in a 32 Gb variant.. 16 runs out rather quickly.

Good to hear! I get 1-2 days out of my S4 presently so I should be able to stretch the same out of the Z2.

Storage wont be an issue for me as I barely use it.. Cant wait for it to arrive now!
