Have you had it plugged in to try and charge it up... could be that the charging cable (if you are trying to charge via USB) is not working properly?
Which phone do you actually own? I would suggest going here - http://androidforums.com/android-phones/ and scrolling down until you find the sub-forum for your phone... other users of the same phone may be able to offer a little more advice!
