Help write_external_storage permission denied

does anyone know how to fix? I found some instruction on modifying platform.xml on system/etc/permissions,
I've done them all, but I'm still having problems with apps,
the app itself has access too

edit: ok, I managed to write to it, but only starting the path with:

/mnt/media_rw/...

I am, but it wasn't working, I guess the edit in platform.xml did the trick,
as long as I select the path starting with /mnt/media_rw..
