"wrong gmail password"

apcrcom

Lurker
I turned on 2 step verification a couple of weeks ago and ever since then I cant use the gmail account on my phone. Every time I try to use it it asks for the password, which I entered (correctly) and it says "wrong password"

Here's what I have tried:

turning off the Synch on the phone (I read a post somewhere that said if you do this it should ask for pwd) - no luck

deleting the account - tells me its required and I have to factory reset the phone to delete it - something Im not keen to do if I can avoid it

triple-checked the password (a sanity check to make sure I was entering it correctly. I am)

So stuck now. Can anyone help?

If no one comes up with a solution to help you resolve this, then perhaps factory resetting the phone will help.
