X in Data Icon

LXTG2

Lurker
Hi everyone, I'm having 2 problems: first, does anybody know what this X in my data icon means? It also appears in the wifi icon when I'm connected of course.

And second, everytime I turn my wifi on, it connects but says it has no internet access, despite the fact THAT I DO HAVE ACCESS. Why does it happen? It's really annoying.

Thanks.

The X usually means no data service. If you don't have internet on the WiFi you are connected to, or if Google sites and services are blocked (you are behind a firewall) it can report that.

I don't think so (I have data service). To indicate no data access, the X should be above the icon, not inside like in my case.

Is this a carrier version phone, and do you have service that carrier, e.g. Sprint.

It might be indicating that net access is blocked by a proxy?

No, it's not a carrier version. It also happens with the wifi icon. I updated the thread.
