Help x10 wont update

when ever i connect my usb to my laptop to update the softwere on my x10 it always messes up when i press the back buton on the x10 and connect the usb to the phone the green light stays on for 5 mins then the phone switches it self on.
iv tried it several times with different laptops and usbs is there a solution to this

pleaseeeeee help

ps im useing a nokia usb cause i lost the x10 one is this y

To enter what we call "Flash mode" the easy way, try removing the battery, plug the USB cable, hold the "back" button and reinsert the battery. Don't release the "Back" button until SEUS tells you so.

the green light come on but it jus stays there and the seus doesnt tell me to carry on to conferm the update is there any thing else
