Xbox 360 controller problems

So I use a non rooted Huawei P10 Lite and I got an OTG, the thing is that the phone will recognise a flash drive but when I plug in my wired Xbox 360 controller nothing happens. The controller will continuously blink but it won't work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

What are you trying to do? Play a game using the controller? I'd say there's no driver support for it, off the top of my head.

Maybe there's a support app you need to install? Apparently it's supposed to work as long as it's an official Microsoft Xbox 360 game controller and not a third-party one...

It might just be down to button mapping and the whatever it is games and emulators you're playing, supporting it

It has GameStop written on it, so I assume it's third party, however it doesn't work at all. Even outside games. I've seen that it's supposed to allow to launch apps but not even that happens. Thanks btw

For comparison, I was able to use my xbox 360 wired controller with my Android 4.3 tablet, using a USB OTG cable. It just worked. I didn't have to do anything to get it work.

I then tried connecting this same wired controller to my Android 7.0 phone and could not get the phone to recognize the controller.

So when it doesn't work, it must be missing the driver. Question is whether this lack of an xbox 360 controller driver is due to the Android version or whether the particular device manufacturer simply didn't include the driver when they generated the firmware for their device..

It could be the particular Android 7.0 phone you've got just doesn't have USB OTG, rather than being a driver issue. Not all phones have USB OTG capabilities, especially budget devices. On some phones you might have to enable OTG in the settings, as it may not be on by default.
AFAIK Android itself doesn't usually include drivers specifically for Microsoft Xbox controllers, that would be handled by the games themselves that have support for them.
