Xbox Live Data Question

Okay so my wife and I just bought our first home (yay homeowners)...anyways my selections for internet are limited, but since my wife and i are on the go a lot i started wondering about the Verizon MiFi's as a primary source of internet. My question is does anyone know roughly how much data is streamed while playing on xbox live? It would be worth it to me if i cang et away with the 5gb plan for $50 a month but if im going to be destroying 5gb of data it wouldn't be worth it for me to go to the $80 plan. Any input would be nice, thanks in advance.

depends on what your are doing on xbl. Gaming can stream a LOT of data on a monthly basis. For home use, I would never sign up for a limited data contract.

i just didn't know bc i know live gaming sends signals but i didnt know if there was direct data downloading to communicate with the servers

I tether my Inspire 4G a lot when I play Blackops or NBA2k11 and It doesn't use that much data. maybe 80-90 MBs for an hour and a half of game play. Now Netflix on the other hand is a data whore monger. One 30 mins episode of Weeds ran me for about 900Mbs.

it all depends on what you're using it for. if its your only home internet connection, most likely you'll be racking up those GB's quite quickly between streaming vids/music/gaming and then general internet usage on your computer.

I was using my Droid X for home internet, phone internet and PSN. I used about 2Gbs every month.

i would be playing live for maybe 6 hrs a week thats really it, i use my phone for internet surfing
