I bet that, for most users, voice-activated controls or Kinect gestures aren't going to be enough to do it. An enhanced program guide that brings together all the sources of content into one screen -- now that has potential.

This is one of the main things I like about Xbox One. And the enhanced TV guide. I want a real easy way to group my fav channels and easier access to them. Thanks to this article, I learned Google TV might be worth looking into.

From the comments after the article:

A big limitation is DRM. If you are using a HDMI switching AV
receiver in your home theater set up, many of the middle-men
devices may be blocked as the cable boxes only allow one
device between themselves and the display.

This is what I've been thinking since the announcement. Wouldn't anybody who takes their tv serious enough to want this already have their stuff running through surround sound? Even if it works, how many boxes do they expect us to pass through?

Yea...I forgot all about that...

A few years ago my receiver HDMI input(s) went bad and I had to use regular cables, probably an optical cable too to run sound to it from the TV and had to connect everything to the TV by HDMI.

I think that way you can still have surround sound for everything. But yea..how is the Xbox One gonna handle ppl with receivers? I trying to figure out a setup now...
