Well this is going to be a bit of an oddity but here goes.. I have used UOT kitchen to make my power off menu ("Phone Options") background black. I havn't seen a way to change the text color of the options themselves and it blends in the background. I wish to make the text white but I'm not sure what xml file this property would be in.

Basically, im dealing with this and want to make the text look white in the menu:

That may be in the smali files as well, but I'm not 100% sure. I haven't messed with themeing for a hot minute. Have you read the Ultimate Themeing Guide? Do a Google search and it'll POP up, I would direct link you, but I'm on my phone. sorry.

[THEME] The Ultimate Android Themeing Guide - Updated 4/26 - xda-developers is that what you meant for the ultimate themeing guide? Unfortunately the poster took it off his post.. :c

edit 2: that whole thing about smali files in the ultimate themeing guide.. I had no idea what it was trying to say.. it looked like a bunch of jibberish to me.. and I even know what binary/hex is being i have quite a bit of computer experience but im not sure what its even trying to say.. and the "want to learn how to theme" guide only talked about how to edit things (I already got that part down) and not whats inside each of the different ones and I need something that will help me find where to look for the place where that color value is being set for the text in the menu

Yes, on both counts for those guides. I forgot to tell you he took it off xda.

I never really got it down either, I had issues and got help from a friend of mine. You literally have to look through the code and I could have sworn there was a way to search. I can't remember anymore, sorry.
There are a few folks here who are really good themers and they may be able to help. The guide Xtremedays, and nick1313 have developed several themes for the OG EVO 4G. I'm sure they would help of asked. Once i get in my pc I'll shoot them a pm and see if they have time to lend a hand.

It wouldn't hurt to send them a pm as well. I'm sure they can get you looking in the right direction.

Also FYI, no biggie at all but you might get better responses from the themes or custom ROM general forum. Anyone in green or red can move it there for ya
