Help Xperia go repair question

Hi,

I believe this hasn't been asked yet...

Once the phone has been opened, as in all the screws removed from the back, and the front casing separated exposing the seal/gasket. Is it simply a matter of putting the screws back in or is there some 'special' technique required to 're-seal' the unit to its waterproof standard? I assume if no damage occurs to the gasket then putting the unit back together is simply the reverse of taking it apart?

My reason for asking is that I have just bought a used ST27i (xperai go) off Ebay. The USB plug is partially broken (the part that tethers the plug to the unit has snapped) and ideally needs replacing, or I'll soon lose the clip. Also, just a thought, can the USB cover be replaced without taking the phone apart, maybe with a good pair of tweezers?

Thank you in advance for useful responses.

As we only have certain repairs agents that are authorised to fix this model and the Xperia Z due to requiring specific tool to reseal, I would have advise against trying to repair the phone yourself sorry.

Oh okay... thanks for the heads up!

In the meantime I got a hold of the Sony PDF files relating to this model number. Section 4.19 in the 'Working Instruction.PDF' says what I had asked, if the part can be replaced without opening the unit up, which it can be.

My issue now would be the remove the broken tether that's loose inside the phone. I'm optimistic its possible with the right tool.

Thanks for the reply ;)
