Xperia mini vs the old X8?

Hi! I'm thinking of buying either an X8 or the new Xperia Mini...could you give me some advice? Where I live the Mini is slightly more expensive, so I'm not sure which one is better because I need a compromise between budget and convenience. I will be using the phone for at least 3 years.

Both these phones have the same resolution but the Mini is better in other respects like camera and CPU..I'm not too concerned about the camera but what might the higher cpu speed mean in terms of performance of apps in the future? Will normal apps (not games) lag with a speed like 600 Mhz of the X8 in the future? Another thing is OS updates...SE is planning to release an update for ICS for Mini but do you think there will be updates after that...Jelly Bean and beyond? I'll have to depend on custom ROMs for the X8 so I'm wondering what if developer interest in the X8 stops in the next year or so because it's an old(ish) :D phone, and if apps won't be compatible with froyo, gingerbread (or even ICS?) by the end of 2013...

Sorry if I sound picky and slightly paranoid :o

In my personal opinion I would have to recommend the Xperia Mini over the X8 given your concerns. You are going to have more recent firmware providing greater functionality, faster performance and an increased compatibility with current and future applications.

I Also Think The Same Because Xperia Mini Offers You A New,Fast And More Reliable Services Than Of The X8, Xperia Mini May Be A Little Costly As You Mentioned Above But You Get What You Pay For.

I think everyone who's thinking of buying the xperia st15i, but has not yet done it, should know that some people are reporting some overheat issues.
Just google xperia mini st15i overheat.

I myself have it, and I love it. And haven't had any issues so far with it. But then again, it's winter over here (pretty cold).
As far as recommending the phone, I would say it's a great phone. And I would recommend it. It has many capabilities bigger xperia phones have.
Just a smaller screen(but it's good), 5mpx instead of 8mpx, smaller internal sd memory and smaller battery capacity.
Just go to Sony Ericsson Xperia mini - Full phone specifications and hit the compare link, to compare to other xperia phones.
