xperia t shutting down when battery less than 50% power

Hi I have just got an xperia t and have had it for about 5 weeks now. It suddenly started shutting down and restarting when my battery level was around 25% and when I browsed google, used fbook or used my camera. I went through the various troubleshooting things like delete recent downloaded apps, do a factory setting reboot and then I did the reboot using the pc sony reboot software and now its started just shutting down around 50% battery level and my battery seems to be draining really quickly. Its going from 100% power to 50% within 2 hours?? Any suggestions. ( Im really not very technical at all so if anyone has any advice please !)

I might need a little more information, so I'll try to troubleshoot based off of what you posted.
Option 1 is a bad/rogue app. When you performed a factory reset, did you. Run it with only stock apps or did you install all of the old ones again? If the former, then I'd lean more towards a hardware issue. If the latter, please uninstall all of them and reinstall them 5 or so at a time and watch your battery for a couple of days before installing the next 5. If the battery drops quickly, it's one of the 5.

Option 2 is hardware, specifically battery. If you have only had it 5 weeks, I'd take it back to your equipment provider for a battery replacement.

I only downloaded a few apps at first( amazon , amazon mp3, ebay and twitter) all seemed fine. I downloaded skype and within a couple of days the phone started shutting down. Browsed a few forums and learnt about rogue apps affecting software so I deleted skype as I this was the most recent app. I did the factory reset which made no difference. I did the online software reset thing and have deleted all downloaded apps but after using the online software the phone now shuts at 50% instead of 25% as it first did. Have done more factory resets but it has made no difference. I read that it can take a week to dort itself out , so I am still hoping! I have downloaded juice defendet but tbh I wouldnt know where to start tweeking things on it!
