Root xperia x10 - touchscreen problems

My phone has fallen from the table today.
Its working fine, but there is a specific area where the touchscreen doesn't work. this specific area is on the top of the screen. so it is really not comfortable to use the device.
i have no Warranty, and not extra cash to spend,
Is there any way to fix this problem?

Don't think there is.

You can ebay a touch screen replacement:

x10 touch screen | eBay

But it would cost money. Like 30 bucks...and for under 100 you could get a new phone.

You could try resetting to factory, but if the controller is physically damaged, you can't use any software to fix it.
