XRVD?

Can anyone tell me what XRVD is? It's in my system apps. I can't find anything anywhere about it. I am using a AGM Glory G1 Pro running Android 11. Thanks

Never heard of it, and Google search shows nothing. Maybe it's something the manufacturer put on this phone or tablet as part of their firmware? Is it a Chinese device? Because sometimes their stuff has cryptic names, often with X in them. because it's abbreviated pinyin.

Yes it's a Chinese phone... I think someone maybe remote viewing my device? And I can't find anything about it on any AGM searches. Thanks for your reply.

This phone isn't rooted is it, and this XRVD is a non-removable system app or process? If so, that means the device manufacturer put it there, baked into the firmware.

From your screen-shot It seems to have used quite a lot of data over the last month or so, over a 1GB. What it actually is and what it's doing, no real ideas. But maybe it is spying and phoning home to the PRC?

It came with straight stock android. No bloatware really..

Well "straight stock" Android from unknown manufacturers is China, can be very different to what Google intended it to be. Given that Android is open source and AOSP is freely available to anyone, manufacturers can do anything they like with it, including built-in nasties.

AF has had many reports of undesirable and sometimes sinister things happening with off-brand China phones and tablets. Including tablets that have built-in Chinese govt censoring. Where the system hosts-file had been doctored to block hundreds of websites deemed undesirable by the Communist Party of China. It was a tablet used in the UK that couldn't access Facebook, Twitter, BBC, CNN, Amnesty International, etc.

I live in China, and I would never use such devices for anything important and/or private.

No, not rooted... I want to so I can degoogle and put different OS.. but no such luck.. and no.. not able to disable or force stop.. I did restrict the data tho.. might be a spy phone with the world going like it is. Very appealing phone tho with thermal imaging, night vision, laser rangefinder ECT.

Nope, no custom recovery for my phone.. I found one page but it was all Russian. And nothing on XDA.. YouTube guy from India said I have about a 5% chance of finding anything custom for my phone right now.

Considering the data useage of the app, and the camera capabilities of the device- along with the questions and the country of origin-

I would like to suggest a coupke of apps that may help secure it a bit.

https://cloudapks.com/app/com.introneapps.pandroidcamera/

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/cityfreqs.com.pilfershushjammer/

The first one puts a device administer block on the camera.
No apps can access the camera without you allowing the camera to function- easily accessible via a quick settings tile.

The second one is a microphone blocker.
It does not have the device administrator feature, but still seems pretty effective.
