Help XT won't charge via computer usb

Yeah, so I downloaded the Motorola connecting/charging drivers and my crap work computer won't recognize the Cliq XT still (running XP Pro). Any ideas? Restarted everything, still nothing.

hmm, i never had to install and drivers for my motorola cliq xt. i just plugged it in via usb and it started to charge or i could of put music and all my stuff by just dragging and dropping music, documents, ect. to the phone folder. does your computer and phone recognize each other when plugged in? if it does not contact motorola by calling them or online support, maybe u should do a manufacture reset!

It was a faulty cord. I love the needless change from the standard mini-usb plug.
