Help XT910 sim card issue

I have an XT 910 that is running the system file 651.73.240.XT910.rogers.en.CA. What I am having problems with is that I have unlocked it so that I can use my AT&T sim card with it and almost everything works. It is not reading my phone number off the sim card and I am not able to send text messages. I can receive them just fine and I can make and receive phone calls. Does any one have any suggestions on what may be wrong? I was thinking that because it is running a Canadian version of the software? If that could be it where can I find a US version of it and how would I install it? I love my phone and I would like to be able to get it working right.
