Yahoo mail, I don't want contacts to sync

I don't want the Yahoo mail app to sync my GMail contacts, I want them to stay separate. I have the Yahoo mail app set to NOT sync contacts but all of my Google contacts are there.

I do want my Yahoo contacts to sync between online and mobile but not to sync my phone with GMail.

I know it's the reverse of what most people want but I really just my Yahoo app to have Yahoo contacts and my GMail app to have Google contacts.

Any ideas on how to make this stop?

You would have to delete all yahoo contacts from Yahoo itself. Then re-enter and and don't do a general sync. Do this on the computer, just to make sure that you don't have anything checked in Yahoo that you don't want. You will have to read all the info about your account.Check all syncing on the phone, and don't use Yahoo mobile. Don't sign into Yahoo with your Google account, either.

Get into Google Dashboard on the computer and check your settings there. Make sure you do NOT have a Yahoo address as a backup.

While it's a PITA sometimes, I simply won't use the Yahoo or any other mobile app.
Boat Browser has a desktop mode.

Yahoo is updating itself to be more like Google to more people. The new mail, groups etc is annoying a lot of users.

I've read that Yahoo is now allowing a third party to import your mail. If you use K9 or Aquamail, even Outlook I suppose, you can get your stuff via IMAP.

I only have 2 contacts actually listed with Google - both use Gmail. I simply don't sync mail except by a third party mailer.
The rest are on the phone only. I've backed up the VCF files.

I've deleted the mail app from my phone and will only use it on my laptop. I just don't want all my contacts mish-mashed up.
I did set up Yahoo to forward to GMail but it's not forwarding. Stupid Yahoo. I just use it for one birding group, it's not like I'm asking for a lot here. LOL.
Oh well, I guess I will continue to just check the site and give up on Yahoo mail on the phone.

Thanks for your input...it isn't honestly worth the effort to try to get it to work, I hate Yahoo anyway

Tell me. I use groups, deleted all contacts and use the addies for spam. I mostly use the mail for groups, anyway.

I grabbed all the mail I had saved via GMX. It did import it.

Ibird Pro has a nice forum.

I'll have to check Ibird out!
The Yahoo group I'm in is a nice group of local birders. It's fun to know where to go to see any "must see" birds or just who is flying through.
