Help Yahoo Ticker (on lock screen) & Chrome Browser

Anyone having issues with these two? I am unable to open any stories from the Yahoo news ticker in Chrome. My phone simply opens Chrome with the last page I was viewing.
 
I tested just to see, I ran into it not opening a link if Chrome was running in the foreground when i locked the screen.

If I hit home, even if chrome had other pages loaded and then locked and then tried a link, It would open the link.

It appears that you can't have Chrome set as the default browser for this to work. I cleared the default setting for Chrome, and it works just fine. It takes an extra tap for me to view these news stories now, since I have to select which browser to use. It looks like Chrome needs an update.
