Elsewhere, I'm usually the one providing answers to technical questions. This is the kind of place I come looking for some of those answers.
For the past year+ I've been experimenting with keeping my monthly mobile bills as low as possible, while assuring the widest possible coverage area as I travel. As of this writing, I'm doing this with a combination of no-contract mobile services from Republic Wireless (using Sprint's network) and Tracfone (using VerizonWireless' network).
Among relatively affordable Android phones, I like the Moto X. Having tried a few, I cannot recommend most low end (cheap) Android smartphones.
