Yet another noob with root.

Hi all,

First of all, sorry for this question, I know it's been asked lots but I cant find suitable info for me, I have tried!

Right, I have read about rooting ect long time ago, but never had balls to do it.
Now, when my warranty is void and it's that scary I really want to root and clean my phone, because it lags! And all the unused programs keep doing my head in.

The question is, there are a lot of ROM's I've seen but which one do I choose?
I just want a clean full functional phone. Currently I am on stock `3` Network 2.3.3 Android version...

And, if I find a suitable ROM, is there an easy way of just pointing at this ROM file and the program roots it to it?

Again, sorry for being a noob, I have honestly tried to search but there is just too much of information everywhere I looked.

Only real way to know which one to chose is to try them out.

I like the one I installed recently....the TEAM ROM.

Hey I had the same problem I was affrays to root but it was the best thing I did with my phone. Very easy to do. I tried wolfbreaks v6 an although it was a nice Tom an good features it was just to laggy for me so I installed amin rom v2 an this is the best one I've had (personal opinion) just try them out until you fine one you like

I've seen somewhere there is one click root program, is this the one you use?
Also, any chance you can post a link to this two ROM's?

Here is my current rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281881

To root to 2.3 I used something to do with wolfbreak me thinks can't remember so can't help you there. I used superoneclick (think its called that) first time I did. Google is your friend
 
Thanks:) Going to try and flash today...but before that, last question..does the phone needs to be unlocked? I mean SIM lock.
