Your advice on my next phone would be much appreciated!

Hi,

I currently own a Pixel 2 and my phone prior to this was a much loved OnePlus 5T which I decided to get rid of due to the security / privacy concerns that were reported.

I like to have my banking and email apps on my phone and being very security conscious I decided that I would trust a Google phone over any other as it comes with the added peace of mind of monthly security updates and of course, the Google name which you can trust (right?)
Going to the Pixel from my 5T was a massive compromise for me as dual sim and running dual apps built into the Oxygen OS like WhatsApp and Skype were very important for me.

I like to replace my handsets when I get bored and the Pixel 2, although very new, is quite boring.
So the burning question, I would love to return to a dual sim phone and I am considering the OnePlus6 (not the 6T due to the omission of the notification LED!) or the Huawei P20. Are these phones just as safe to use as a Pixel or would it be best not to put banking apps and sensitive files on these phones?
I would even consider a dual sim option with another OS which offers more security such as Lineage OS but I know that the OS is not available for all phones. I have also heard the OnePlus has joined project treble which means they will get faster updates in the future (if I am right?)

Finally, as I would prefer a phone with decent security should I consider the Pixel 3 with its new Titan Chip which is supposed to offer more security? If so, I would then need to look for a virtual number or VOIP solution for a second line for incoming/outgoing business calls.

Lots of questions I know but I would love to hear your thoughts on this also any other recommendations.

BIG Thanks in advance...

It's not so much as the phone security but its the apps that you use to access particular aspects. Given the time your thread exist will determine the number of devices that's going to be posted that someone feel you should purchase mainly due because of their personal preferences and not so much for it's security aspects. So which ever phone you use I would recommend you using a double authentication process to access any of your banking and personal elements. And that goes for any other high risk security functions you access on any device.

The difficult thing is judging what's a genuine security concern with Chinese phones and what's FUD from people who have agendas of their own.

It certainly matters a lot what apps are on the phone, no matter who designed it (I say "designed" because many non-Chinese brands are manufactured in China - it's a matter of how far down that rabbit hole you wish to go).

Believe it or not, I am still deciding but I am steering towards a Samsung even though I would love to go with the OnePlus 6 or the Huawei P20..
I don't know anything about the Huawei P20 but I did see the OnePlus 6T and was impressed with it . would have got it but it was sold out

There will be an iPhone with SD card slot and dual SIM support ;)
So your getting an iPhone? I saw that you can attach a device to use an micro sSD card and it seems that the newest iPhone has dual sim capacity

I believe the iPhone to be e-SIM for SIM2, rather than a true dual-SIM, that takes two physical SIMs. Which means to use it you must have a carrier that supports e-SIM activation.

That's not really what most of people want.

Me too, I want a phone with two real SIM slots. Took my LG G4 Stylus with me during my latest trip abroad, it worked wonderfully with the second SIM from a local service provider.
