Youtube App Problems Anyone?

I haven't seen any recent threads on this specific issue so I figured I'd post it. Forgive me if you've seen this before.

Lately, the Youtube app on my phone has been acting up. Whenever its launched, no matter what video I try to watch or what account I'm logged into, it displays the message: "There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry."

I've tried refreshing, looking for market updates, logging out, switching to low quality videos, etc and nothing seems to be working. Is this happening to anyone else? Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any advice?

I've had the same issues. I can't play videos in my gallery THAT I'VE RECORDED either until I restart my phone. I think it's a glitch with 2.2.

"There are a couple threads here where there are others who are experiencing this same issue. It isn't just YouTube, but just about any video/audio that isn't preinstalled on the phone. We're assuming YouTube and other streaming media are affected because of the way they are cached on the phone during the streaming process. Next time this happens, please test out playing stored MP3 files from your SD card and attempt to record a video through your camera to see if those also give you errors. Once you've done that, instead of shutting off/turning on your phone to fix it, try to unmount/remount your SD card in [settings] -> [SD card and phone storage] to see if that works (it works for me, but others say it doesn't) and post your results in this thread.

Nobody is quite sure what is causing it, but we are sure it is an issue with Froyo and not the Epic in particular. The 2 primary suspects right now are codec problems and conflicting apps."

Aha! It was the Twitter for Android application that was causing the problem. Uninstalled it, restarted my phone, and now everything works. Thanks for the link!
