Lurker
I bought an i1 for me and another for my brother. Mine came with Youtube app and his didnt. We can't share the app via SD or via Bump. Any help?
Android 1.5 cupcake

yeah we searched. That's why i put the version on. 1.5. The app on the market is 1.6+
The point is that I have it on a brand new phone and he doesnt.

The application is designed for Android 1.6+ and so the application will only work for 1.6+ phones and so even if you can get the file onto the phone. You wouldn't be able to install it.

Ok, I think i didn't explain right:

I'm Brazilian. I use NEXTEL. The only phone here that's android AND Nextel is this one, the i1, with the old 1.5 version. That's it, there's no way to "take it back and get a better one".

The problem is simple: I have an i1, 1.5. He has an i1, 1.5. I have Youtube app, he doesn't. I can't bump the app.

Any solutions?

Bump only bumps a market link to the other phone, NOT the actual app. To share the actual app you would need to root both phones.
He would only need to root the phone that had the youtube app on it and then make a backup of it in the form of an apk. Then the other phone could just allow installs from unknown sources and it would install it; it wouldn't need root.

Why not just look for a cupcake ROM and take out the youtube.apk from the zipped ROM in system/app, hook up your phone to transfer it from your PC to your phone sd card, then install with astro or something similar?

Any youtube.apk that's version 1.3 or below should work with your phone. After 1.3 I think Android OS 1.6+ is required.
