Youtube crashes when changing from one video to another

The Youtube app has been working flawlessly on my Toshiba Thrive ICS tablet until recently. I have been using it with a Chromecast so I tend to switch videos quite often. If I do this now the app closes instantly thus necessitating a restart. I tried an uninstall then reinstall to no avail. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I would clear the cache and data for the youtube app.Try that and see if that fixes it.

Unfortunately clearing data and caches did not work for me.
