Help Youtube videos oddly organized

So has anybody noticed anything differently recently with the youtube app?

Today I've noticed whenever I search for certain videos or songs, they all come out all listed in playlists. And usually I can find the exact video I'm looking for without the playlist.

I'm running an S3 on Jelly Bean if that makes any difference.

I see playlists at the top of the page, but if I scroll down, I get individual songs.

I know there was talk of a youtube based music subscription service of late, I wonder if it's connected to that?
