Z4 root problem please help

I have a droid x and my phone will not root after the system update. I've tried reinstalling it and pulling the battery, but when I try to root it will freeze my phone or ask if I want to force close. I also just downloaded the new superuser elite but still no luck. somebody please help

If you root, never take official updates. Ever. The exploit that Z4 uses was probably patched and it does not work anymore. See the 'Droid X - All things Root' subsection to see if there is another work around.
