Zillow Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Your Pocket

Without going into too much personal detail, my wife and I were searching for our first home to purchase a few months ago, and like most people we hired a real estate agent to find our dream house. After several failed ventures for homes in our area for the price range we were in we were growing a little uneasy about whether or not we would find a home. My wife, being more fluent in android. . .well maybe fluent isn't the best word since android isn't technically a form of communication between people, adept is a more suited word. She is more adept at android than I am seeing how she has used the OS since it's launch on the G1 and i only recently started using it last Fall. One day while she was at work, she searched the android market for real estate and came across Zillow. Zillow is an application that uses Google Maps to find homes in your that your local real estate agent might not even be aware of. You can search your area for property that is for sale, for rent, or recently sold. A person can narrow their result by setting a price range, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, looking to buy, or just looking to rent. By clicking on the properties that show up for your area you are given all the contact information for the seller as well as all information pertaining to the house such as pictures, bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, pricing, and break down of monthly payments. There are recently sold houses listed below the property you click on so as to compare it to similar homes. The only negative thing I found was the seller is responsible for posting all information and pictures of said property and not all sellers post enough information or pictures to give you a good impression of the property. Needless to say my wife and I used this application in along with our actual agent and were able to find a house in our area within our price range. Thanks Zillow.
