my phone keeps hanging up when I talk on the phone how do I keep that from happening?

The most common reason is that you're in an area with bad reception and your calls are getting dropped.

I suggest updating your PRL. The method will differ depending on the model of your phone. The easiest way is to call your service provider and have them talk you through it. Make sure you call from a different phone so you can modify your settings without disconnecting from tech support.
