ZTE Anthem OS

I'm totally hearbroken and pissed that my sister just bought the Anthem by ZTE about 2 weeks ago (don't think they'll give a refund).

I'm hoping that someone can give me a few tips to upgrade the OS to something more current. Gingerbread is ancient. Help please.

Cant should of bought the zte avid it has ics 4.04

now that my os is 4.1.2 . on the sequent and 4.2 in my galaxy i have to say gingerbread look old and out of date to old
