Help ZTE Axon 7 Forgot Password

I recently bought and set up my Axon 7. I set the password and chose to unlock via fingerprint. The latter works fine.
When I wanted to change some system settings, I was asked to enter the password and when I then also tried to unlock via password, I realized it is not, what I thought I set it to be.

As mentioned above I can still unlock and do everything + I obviously know my google account details.
How do I set a new password? wo factory reset

Try activating Android Device Manager on settings, then on a PC, use the Android Device Manager password reset.

I have the same problem. If I use Android Device Manager to do a lock and reset password, it gives me this message: "Since Google has verified that a screen lock is already set, the password you entered won't be needed." It won't let me turn off the fingerprint lock without entering the password. Is there any other way to reset it without doing a factory reset?
