Anyone have a clue what I've done wrong? Did exactly as instructions said to fit new digitizer and now I've got no sound from the handset, phonecalls work sounds don't, vibrate works and its sluggish on startup now.

I'm no expert but it sounds like you may have disconnected your speaker as you can hear sound through headphones which have nothing to do with your speaker.
