OK, my mother used my phone to take pictures of her flowers and I was going to edit them in Adobe Lightroom.
Used to, the phone would prompt me asking if I wanted to turn on USB file-sharing. I just did this for the first time in a while and the prompt never came on.
I know the charger isn't just flat-out broken because it still uses my computer to charge. I just can't browse the phone's files like I used to be able to do, and it also doesn't show up in the "devices" page on the computer.
By the way, if it helps the computer is and always has been Windows 8.
