Last night around midnight, my A52, which was on the charger, started beeping approx 1/sec. After a minute or two, it started beeping rapidly, approx 2/sec. I unplugged the phone and closed all apps but it kept beeping. The only way I could get it to stop was to hold the side button and reboot. Notification settings are all OK.
Any ideas why this happened and how to prevent it? Do you think the midnight time is significant? I had no scheduled calendar events for that time, FWIW.

Somebody please help me I'm on a jp5s inmate tablet running Android 4.2.2 rooted ---i set my date forward in order to get game bonuses and now my date and time is stuck 8days into the future.every time I set the correct time and date (auto and manual) it changes back to the future time/date when the minute rolls over. This happened to a friend that I'm no longer in contact with and he fixed the problem by rewriting the system time(epoch time) what's the path to that file? I'm using ES as my file browser.

Is there any app that allows to control volume levels on a per app basis? Sometimes I'm listening to music spotify and want to use Instagram with zero sound (while viewing videos there) or play a game with volume muted but currently not able to do so.

I have a rooted Oneplus 9RT running Android 11.

I hope I'm not asking a crazy question and or one that's been answered. But why allow me download android auto if my firmware is too old to work with the latest version of the app? There's other apps that just says not compatible but not android auto app.

I traveled to Hong Kong recently with the oneplus 5T and bought a CSL sim card.
It worked and I get a "4G" symbol on the signal strength, but no LTE and no VOLTE indicators.

The most unusual thing is phone battery drains more then 3 times faster. The battery setting just shows google play as the top drainer (7%). When I came back to USA, the battery drain is normal again.

What could cause this and how do I avoid it next time?
I know my phone is a little old but how does an old phone cause more battery drain in Hong Kong?

I bought 2 used identical J3 Achieve phones and Boost in 2020 was able to get one of them activated, but since the 5G implemented they no longer support the phone. I am able to use Mint mobile with it, however the other phone is locked and it seems the only way to get it unlocked is by paying for it.

That's ok though but i need a trustworthy place to do it. Is there any good options/places to unlock the phone so I can use this other one with Mint?

And yes I learned my mistake to not buy phones that I can't unlock on my own. I don't think Boost will unlock it because you need to have service for 12 months, kind of a problem when you cant even register the device.

Today, when putting my vacation days into the stock calendar, I noticed that the holidays that were there when I started the phone are now gone. The only thing that I know that I could have done was to do the phone software updates. Does anyone know what might have happened? How, if possible can I get them back? Is there a way to get another set of holidays on the calendar. Even though I want the ones back I had upon startup, I have to admit that lots of weird holidays were featured. No need to tell a long story. I got angry at Consumer Cellular, fired them and received my sim card today from the new network. I can't get the phone to work because it wants to be unlocked. Consumer Cellular refused to unlock the phone stating that I had a past due account. We sent the final payment on Jan 30 and I find it hard to believe they haven't received it yet. So I can't use my cell phone on their network or the new network. Short of buying a new phone, is there a solution?

Would anyone be able to help me understand how to care for the battery? I spent hours google searching and can't find the answers. I did stumble upon how to turn off fast charging. Does that mean I can use my regular 5W charger if I do that? That is what I am hoping to do. I don't need a fast charge and they are expensive (to replace everything I already have). I also read that it was best to charge in the by 20% and up to 80%, then read somewhere else that the phone is automatically set to not let you charge to 100% even though that is what the display says. At this point I am confused as H E double-hockey-sticks...Help me Obi Wan...

This happens a few times a day. I'll be on wifi and i wont get any notifcations for like a couple hours. Then I will turn off wifi and a bunch of notifications will come in all at the same time. Gmail, facebook, my nest camera, everything. This happens on my home wifi as well as work wifi and pretty much every wifi connection.

I also have an issue where I won't get notifications and then when I unlock my phone i will get a notifcation late. This happens mostly with gmail.

The fear is always that they take resource usage like RAM from the phone as opposed to using stock options.

The update downloaded much quicker than usual. That may be why it took longer to prepare my phone for it. I had read that Google was working on a way to improve update speed. Maybe this was it.

** UPDATE: ANSWER FOUND. Android 11 purposely disabled the feature to access your existing images when a live camera capture request is activated via a link or app. **

Im trying to find out if this is specific to Samsung phones. I have an S22. When you click "Take Photo" links, it brings up a version of the camera app that does NOT give access to your gallery or existing photos.

Normally the camera app has a camera roll/gallery icon at the bottom.

Hi all. I'm considering getting the S23 (regular), and I'd like to know if there are any benefits and/or drawbacks to buying an unlocked phone from Amazon vs. buying directly from T-Mobile.

Will it work the same? Are the ones from T-Mobile optimized to run on T-Mobile, or is that not a thing anymore?

Do I just need to put the SIM card from my S7 into the S23 to activate it? (Assuming it's even the same type. If it's not, what do I do?)

How else would T-Mobile know I got a new phone if I don't do it through them?
