Help! a 20yo girl know if she should stay or go

Hi! I recently broke up with my bf of 9-10 months and moved out due to the relationship being incredibly toxic and abusive. He came to me and said he’s getting into therapy and changing himself. Long story short he sent me a screenshot, trying to prove himself, that he wasn’t doing wrong but I saw an unfamiliar and weird notification, I attached a picture of it.

August update

The last small update was just an interim one. The full August update is still a few weeks away as per Google.
Google did share today that the “August 2022 update for all supported Pixel devices will begin rollout in the coming weeks.” According to 9to5Google, Google says it will fix a GPS problem that some owners have. The article can be found at:
https://9to5google.com/2022/08/04/pixel-6-update/

There's a fix for the fingerprint sensor

There have been many articles about problems with the fingerprint sensor. Now there are articles about a fix. Here is one such article from Phone Arena:
https://www.phonearena.com/news/android-13-beta-4.1-improves-pixel-6-fingerprint-scanner_id141698
All the articles say the same thing; that the 4.1 beta version of Android 13 fixes the issues. This is great news even if you're not into experimenting with beta versions. That's because we know that in a few months, when Android 13 is released to our phone, the problematic sensor will be fixed.

Help Change the answering screen on Xiaomi 11T 5G

Hi everyone,

I own a Samsung Note 10 and a Xiaomi 11T 5G. On my Samsung I have the option, when I have open apps and the phone is ringing, instead of giving me a pop-up screen or a floating window answering the phone to have it in full screen. Now, because Xiaomi’s pop-up screen for answering the phone is way too small, I’d like to have the option switching to full screen instead of pop-up or floating. Is there a way doing that?

Thank you all in advance

S22 DUAL SIM (US VERSION)

Hi everyone,

I have an S22 (US Variant) that is NOT DUAL SIM from factory, but I noticed that the SIM Slot has contacts on both sides of it.

So I bought a Dual SIM tray to test if I could use 2 SIMs at the same time.

Turns out that if I insert only 1 SIM in the upper side of the tray or in the down side of the tray, the phone works perfectly fine, what means that there is woking eletronic contacts in both sides. But when I insert 2 SIM cards at the same time, only the SIM in the upper side works.

Inside the settings, there is no option to turn on a second physical SIM card, only eSIM (but my carrier does not work with eSIM for Samsung yet).

Does anyone know if there is a way to activate the second SIM card?

Thanks!

Wi-Fi off then on?

Can anyone help with this problem?

When I am at home on my Wi-Fi and I try to open a website or send a WhatsApp message on my Samsung Galaxy S10 phone the message will not send or I cannot connect to a website until I switch off Wi-Fi in my Quick Panel and then switch it on again. As soon as I do that the WhatsApp message sends or the website comes up.

I am running Android 12 with One UI version 4.1. The phone is NOT nor has it ever been rooted so it is not something that I have done to it.

It seems as though the internet is disconnected until I switch the Wi-Fi off and then on again in the Quick Panel. There is probably a setting somewhere that is doing this but I just cannot figure it out. Can anyone help please?

no SIM tray on old Galaxy s7 phone

Hello. I'm getting a bit frantic. My wife asked me to insert a different sim card into her rather old Galaxy s& (it's six years old). I was the one that set it up initially, and there was no difficulty in finding the SIM drawer then. However, I have spent over an hour, looking for it (even seen videos that show it at the top left of the phone), but there is no trace whatever of a drawer, nor is there an ejector-pin hole to be seen.

I can hardly believe that this is the situation, but it is as say. By the way, my eyesight is good, and I don't believe that I can be TOTALLY stupid!

Please answer quickly, if possible.
With thanks in hopes of a miracle,
S.

PS: You will hardly believe it possible, but I didn't know that I had been looking at the edge of the phone CASE, not the phone. I suppose it was because of my unfamiliarity with her phone. All is well. Thanks anyway!

Urgent-ish advice/recommendations please

Looking for suggestions for a substitute/replacement for my beloved G(8) power lite. For me it has been the perfect phone. I've had and loved not one but two of them - the first came to me by the kindness of strangers* and the second was a very lucky as-new eBay buy. I bought the identical model as a spare because I was completely happy with the first but it had started being sulky about charging; the lead wobbled in the port. I could still get it to charge, but only by very pernickity positioning and then not breathing in the same room (preferably not in the same house, or county...) until it was charged.

After a while the "spare" became my main phone. This time I was ultra careful connecting/disconnecting, and I don't go for cheap leads (poor value for money), and it doesn't get thrown in my bag to be jiggled and buffetted very often at all - but after a happy year-ish, I'm seeing the same with this one. Honestly, I'd replace with the same again, it's been so good - but on eBay I've seen a few with the same problem. (One described as "in perfect working order", charges perfectly as long as you're careful to get the charging lead at the right angle(!) ... and then I saw there were others.) It must the model, not my clumsiness after all.

So now I'm looking for something that will
(i) be perfect;
(ii) last for ever;
(iii) cost nothing...

I don't habitually keep up with the market or reviews, I just do my research thoroughly when I need to. I've started looking on Back Market, Amazon and eBay, but you lot will save me a lot of time researching. :)
My son mentioned the Moto G31 but he's into "good" rather than "value over time" and I think he's basing that on features, rather than reviews from people who have tried it for longer than a couple of weeks.

Criteria:
  1. My preference is always refurb (or even better "new other"/"as new" of course).
  2. and as I say, thinking long term - spend now to avoid spending again until I really can't not.
  3. My budget is zero. Yeah, right. Let's say around £100. I don't imagine there's anyone into phones and knowledgeable about buying them (ie anyone on here) who knows much about that price bracket! I do find myself willing to go above that if I'm really certain of a wise choice - and if I'm sure it's a good investment, I'll even buy new. Actually I have seen a refurbished power lite for £128, but I'm reluctant that I can't trust the charging port. Also no idea how many apps will break when Android 10 goes out of fashion - I hope not to change the phone again for a long while.
  4. Highest priority, probably screen quality and reliability.
  5. Speed is nice too, but I'm not the most impatient person in the world and I don't often stream or game.
  6. Next would come weight as I have painful hands from too much thumbtyping, especially in the last year since the laptop became less accessible forcing me to default to the phone. (But I'm resigned to nothing being great that way so maybe not worth mentioning.)
  7. And then audio quality, as phone calls are pretty terrible with rural wifi (wifi calling) and almost no cell signal.

I've pretty much decided to get myself a 1TB SD card too, for simplicity as I'm having trouble with backup and sync in general (long story and off topic!). So storage capacity doesn't matter very much.

Apps Wear OS battery optimization

Hello,

I'm developping a tracking application that runs on Wear OS watches. I have some troubles when the watch goes to sleep. As soon as the watch goes to Deep Idle mode, all sensors acquisition stops. For that I'll need to whitelist the app using:

Code:
                                Intent intent = new Intent();
                                intent.setAction(Settings.ACTION_REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS);
                                intent.setData(Uri.parse("package:" + packageName));
                                context.startActivity(intent);

This piece of code works well on mobile version but nothing happen on Wear OS version. I realized that Wear OS as no UI to set the battery optimization mode which should be the cause of the fact that nothing happens when trying to change the optimization.

I also used a wake lock to keep the CPU partially awake with:

Code:
                PowerManager powerManager = (PowerManager) getSystemService(POWER_SERVICE);

               wakeLock = powerManager.newWakeLock(PowerManager.PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK, "MY-WAKELOCK");

But even with that the watch goes to deep sleep after about 15min ?

The last solution I see is to force the screen on or at least dimmed but it will drain the battery very fast.

Is there another solution to keep sensors working ? How can I whitelist my app on a Wear OS device as no UI seems available ? As anyone already encountered this issue?
