Is a PC and a laptop the same thing, a laptop just being a portable PC?

Looking at several new phones, it appears difficult to get a new phone (1-2 years old but new) and have removable battery without sacrificing virtually key specs RAM, storage, network compability, etc.
Can anyone suggest new phone that is on same level as Motorola G Power spec wise but still has a removable battery?

I am developing an app, which is soft dependent on what a user does in another app. E.g. my app may allocate a reward to to a user who shares our image on Instagram.

What can be the best way for my app to verify that the user has done this action. Let's say no API is available for me to verify existence of such a post on Instagram.

a) Does android allow one app to programmatically interact with another. To what extent this depends on what the other app allows, vs certain general features of the platform which are always true irrespective of other app's intention of preventing such interaction?

b) Secondly, if I go the brute force way (provided user permits), can I simulate user actions and launch the other app and interact with it on behalf of the user, much like using the Win32 API and simulating a mouse click or keyboard input?

c) Basically, I just want a screen shot of the user showing me the post has been shared. My simplest goal is to verify that the screenshot is indeed from the other app, and not a static image or a fake app looking like the original?

Any guidance or general advice would be greatly appreciated.

I changed from a galaxy s9+ to a S21 yesterday. I backed up my WhatsApp and used the USB C cable with smartswitch to transfer all my files and data over. When I opened WhatsApp on my new phone I did the phone verification and hit restore on the prompt but nothing restored. I realised the Gmail address it had set up wasn't the one with the back up on but regardless I had the local file backup.

I'm now stuck. I desperately want/need to restore my chats but I can't. The files are all there. If I uninstall and reinstall the app I don't get given the option to restore, I don't even get given the option to verify my number.

Help. I just don't want to lose my chats. If worse comes to worse I will take just saving them on PC somewhere.

Am I missing something? Should I transfer everything back to my old phone, reset this one and start again?!

I've noticed since the last update my phone's been dying a lot faster ive completely wiped it searched all this random stuff I can't seem to find a good place I came across this site and decided to check it any and all help would be awesome I wonder if it's because I turned on developer mode or if I do have a virus or something I don't want to use the term hacked lol

Hello all.

I just installed the most recent OTA OS update and now there's a double arrow icon plastered in the bottom right hand side of my phone that, when swiped up, opens up a full-screen list of my notifications.
Needless to say, I don't need it because I can PULL DOWN from the top of the screen to see my notifications like has been the case for over a decade.
It's immovable and is right in the way between the k and the m when the keyboard is open.
I've seen it before.
It was on my lock screen prior to this update and wasn't much of a bother.
I thought it was part of Good Lock but I uninstalled and it's still there.
I've searched settings to no avail.

Anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?

I have no computer, so phones with SD cards are my only storage.

Late in April I bought a Moto e6 that has 256 GB SD card capability.

The idea was that I could back up all the other 32 GB SD cards I have onto this one.

I had successfully backed up one, and was getting ready to do another shortly.

Well, the stupid card crashed tonight, with only having 28 GB used.

What a useless piece of junk.

I have never had a single issue with 32 GB cards.
Even ones that are very old and have been used a lot.

Evidently, the way the larger capacity cards work makes them much less durable.

I am using Nova Launcher. Whenever i restart the phone the default launcher pops up. Inspite of setting the Nova as the default launcher and turning off all battery optimization this issue happens. The issue exist irrespective of any other launcher used. Kindly advise.

my system details are
android 11
using vivo 20 pro.

already tried methods.
1. wipe cache and set nova as launcher. after restart default launcher pops up
2. reinstall nova and set nova as launcher. after restart default launcher pops up

One of my friends has apparently qualified for cheap internet from Comcast. It"s about $10 a month. They also offer a Dell computer for about $150. It's got 4 gb of memory and 64 gb hard drive. Should he get it? Would it be possible to modify it, for instance by upgrading the hard drive? He wants at least 1 - 2 terabytes. Also, how bad is it to have chrome as an operating system? Can it be swapped out for something better, such as Linux? I guess if nothing else I might be able to borrow it and try to repair my Moto G Stylus.

Hello. Since July first all pictures that I download don't have an extension anymore. I can't post, share or open them. I deleted a lot of "empty files" until I found out, that I have to go to details and add a .jpg extension to the file and there it is... But why did "the phone" stop doing this by itself? And how can I get it back to downloading files as .jpgs?

Yesterday my friend let somebody else use his phone. This morning Firefox was gone. I restarted the phone for him and the SD card, which had apparently disappeared also, turned up, but Firefox was still not there. I've tried redownloading it with no luck. The apk version, the "official" 90.1.1 (I think), an earlier version from April...they all are bogus. What does "there was a problem parsing the package" even mean?

My wife is having a problem with her phone periodically not ringing, only vibrating, which means she's missing calls.

I turned off Bluetooth to be sure it wasn't going to her headphones, even though I doubted that w
as a problem. I checked sounds and ring tone and it was full volume. I rebooted. Nothing changed

I finally changed the volume of the ring to medium and back up. That worked.

What's going on? She's not technically astute so I'm not sure she'll remember to do this each time. Even worse, she won't realize the problem has occurred and will miss calls. I really need to know what is causing the problem so I can keep it from occuring.

Hoping someone has some ideas.

Hey,as topic says i need help flashing my Huawei.
The problem is that im currently Manjaro OS (Arch linux based OS).
It is possible to flash it directly from Manjaro ?

I am having two issues with the app.
1) when I am using it for navigation there is what I can only refer to as an echo in the voice. When it gives directions there is a doubling of the voice. I dont know how else to describe it. It is very annoying.

2) when it gives directions it pauses the music if I am listening to music from my phone. If I am listening to Sirius or FM radio it does not cut the music while giving the directions. This is what I want. I dont want the music cut out. It use to just lower the music or only play it from the rear speakers. Why has this changed. Again very annoying.

The front page should display all events and if u are logged in you can apply/register for any event on the homepage. I am using firebase for backend. My question is how to display event data on the homepage? Without manually making 10 blocks , i want every event that user creates showing up on homepage. With register button of course . Please help❤️

Hello, i have an USB-powered AKAI MPD218 MIDI pad controller that i have been using with FL Studio Mobile (3) for the past 2+yrs. I have used it with 4 or 5 different Android phones, never once encountering a single issue, thanks to the OTG cable. However, i recently bought a ZTE Avid 579, and when i connected my MPD218, nothing happened. I thought it maybe the OTG cable, tried a different one, same result.. nothing. So i checked both OTG cables by plugging the MPD218 into 3 other phones, and it worked fine, device lit up immediately. So i checked my ZTEs USB configuration, which i had already set to MIDI prior to trying to connect my MIDI controller. Ive searched far & wide online for some help 8n the matter & then remembered i was a member of this community, so i hope someone who is more tech savvy can let me now what i may be doing wrong, or point me in the proper direction.
