Hi,

How to display date at the status bar? (status bar meaning the top bar that shows the time, battery percent etc)

The clock settings in Samsung galaxy A32 5G phone does not have the feature to show date at the status bar.

I tried these apps but they do not work, unable to show date at status bar

22 Aug 2024 update, my solution:

Good Lock Quickstar works but the date cannot be adjusted in older phones so some part of the date is blocked by the front camera for some settings. Only newer phones with newer samsung UI can adjust the date format to shorten the date so nothing will be blocked by the front camera, follow this video to customise date format (0:43min )

This app Always Visible Time and Memo works very well as an alternative to Good Lock Quickstar because I can select date format, make it small, position it above the time, so nothing is blocked by the front camera, Always Visible Time and Memo Always Visible Time and Memo - Apps on Google Play

Apps listed below works but if there is new notification the date may move to the right or disappear for some time because of new notification appearing on status bar

About 10 years ago I signed up for Spirit Airlines perks program. It was $69 a year. The only way to sign up was with auto-renew. I forget to cancel the auto-renew and got a $69 charge today, my fault for not cancelling auto-renew.

When I go to cancel the auto-renew I noted the credit number was one I used 10 years ago and have had several new cards with new numbers issued over the past 10 years. So I started Googling the issue and discovered banks will accept your old credit card number if the business had you sign up for auto-renew. They said, so it wasn't an inconvenience to the customer.

Not all businesses with auto renew will do this, but Spirit Airlines does. I think it's extremely dangerous for a bank to do this

Hello, my phone just began exhibiting a strange behavior:

Along the bottom of my screen, I always have visible the back button, the home button, and the one that switches between running apps. I don't know what that button is called, but on my phone it's on the bottom left of the screen, and it looks like three vertical lines.

It has just stopped working. How do I troubleshoot this?

I assume there's an app associated with on-screen navigation, and maybe I could force quit that app and then delete its cache, but I don't know what that app is called, or even if that is how you fix this.

My phone is an S23 FE running Android 14.

I ask because my plan gives me unlimited high speed data, yet they place a limit on how much data I can use through my phone if it's acting as a WiFi hot spot.

We tend to have home ISP outages around here from time to time, so I do have to use my phone as a hot spot a few times per year, and usually only for one evening at a time.

I already have a VPN that I pay for and am happy with. If I put their app on my phone, will that prevent my wireless provider from being able to see the packets being transmitted, and thus prevent them from capping or throttling my hot spot usage?

I'm not trying to abuse this, mind you. Not trying to torrent the contents of an international film archive or anything. I just want to have uninterrupted Internet on my desktop computer even when we have ISP outages.

what a crazy thing to happen that affected so many people all over the world. how did this happen? does this show how vulnerable our tech is? this was no hack or virus. this was all done by CrowdStrike themselves.


i was at a gas station and a couple of people could not use credit cards to get gas. they were only accepting cash or a Shell credit card( i was at a Shell gas station). luckily i had a Shell gas card and was able to get gas.

has anybody else been affected by this?

Cancer is such a devastating disease. I lost my mother to cancer when she was just in her forties. My son has buried two of his best friends this year who both died of brain cancer. I understand the disease attacking the elderly.. we are all rotting out anyway. But the young children and young adults raising families seems so unfair. I imagine everyone reading this has lost a loved one to the disease. You would think that there would be some answers as to the cause and certainly hope to have some curing treatments by now. It is a killer!

My partner in business for 36 years was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. He has started chemo and will find out Monday if it is doing anything beneficial and if he has the cancer in other places in his body. He is in his late sixties so it's not like he has a lifetime ahead of him. He is a very good dude and like most all cancer victims, did nothing to warrant the path he must now walk. I can't stop thinking about his plight.

If you have a story you would like to share, I will certainly listen and I thank you for any positive vibes you have for my past partner.

In the last days, I had a recurrance of a texting issue. Every now and again, if someone sends me text messages and my phone is off, I don't get them. I have to call in to AT&T, then they do something. It even requires me to be off of my phone and on another voice connection with them while they fix the issue. I started to talk with the tech guy, asking him if many calls came in from folding phone users, then I tell him about how my Fold Four died, and that if it had not died suddenly, forcing me to get something that day, I would have tried a dual sim phone. He said "I can fix that. We can put AT&T on the E Sim and you can remove the Sim card so that you can use a local Sim card when traveling". I was hesitant at first because I was having a real issue at that time. We fixed the text issue and I asked him if I would notice any big changes if I do that, and he said "no", and that it was easy to change. I figured "why not", so I had him do it and so far, everything is normal. I think that in the next day or so I am going to try to go to T-Mobile and see if they can set me up with some prepaid service that I can get a Sim card for, then try using it in Dual sim mode. I would like to consider it a test run to figure out if it works well and how I need to do it, before I go on vacation. I found his approach interesting and I never considered that was an option.

Has anyone here ever bought a refurbished phone? I might consider it as a second phone to try out. If one were to buy a refurbished Pixel Fold, does one have to take into account the carrier that you use when you buy, or is there no carrier specific version when you buy an unlocked version?

Ok, so my Z Fold 4 failed, probably because of the flex cable internally. When you turn the phone on, then unfold it, it shuts off. Anytime you unfold it from a running, folded state, it shuts off. It is about a year and a half old , which I am sure it is out of warranty, and I did not have any coverage on it. Other than that issue, it is in great shape. Do you entertain getting it fixed? My AT&T technical help guy said to sell it, I believe, as those are in demand, but it is broken (he knew that). I am not really any longer sure about what he said to do with it in the broken state, as my mind was filled up from the tech. issue we were trying to solve. Any good suggestions?

Can anyone help me re no ringtones sounding on incoming phone calls. I have a Motorola E6 and have tried and checked all the obvious things like:-
1. Do not disturb
2. Airplane mode
3. Bluetooth
4. Replacing ringtone with another one
5. Checked all the volume sliders on Sound settings etc.
6. I even replaced my Phone Dialling app (called Should I answer) with another app but makes no difference

When I tried a test call from my landline phone, the Android just pings once as a notification so the call is obviously reaching the mobile !

I don't really want to do a factory reset as I worry about losing all data.....would I have to reinstall all apps after a factory reset ???

I got a used OnePlus Nord with a really good case. I want to set it up to make calls and not much else. For now I'll just keep it on its original, metro pcs, and have a really cheap plan. I checked out what they've got and they asked for the IMEI, easy to find, and sim info. Wouldn't that be in about phone? I can't find it. Somebody said to take out the sim card. I guess that stuff would be there but I don't know how to take off the case. It might not really be stuck but I don't want to break it or the phone and I don't know how to put it back.

It is a FOTA, (Firmware Over The Air), update and you can check... Settings > Software update... to see if it is available for you. Alternatively, you can connect to the Samsung PC suite, Smart Switch and check via that.

This has been driving me crazy for years:

When I receive a new text message, I would very much like for that sound to be unique. I don't want to hear the exact same sound when various other apps notify me about other things.

When I've previously asked about this, the answer has generally been no. But now that I have an S23 FE running the latest version of the OS, I'm hoping maybe things have changed.

Please note I understand I can set individual notification sounds for specific people in my contacts list. That is not what I want, and it won't solve my problem.

So I bit the bullet and pre-ordered it. I went to Best Buy to see what deals they had. They could not come close to what Samsung is offering. With a trade in deal for my Z Fold 4, I can get the Z Fold 6 516 gig for $799!!!! originally $2019.99. That's $1,000 off!!!! Best Buy was only offering $300 off.

The reason I wanted to check with Best Buy was because of the Greek Squad protection that I have already thru them. Looks like I'll only have Samsung Care+, but they are not that bad and I have a Samsung Experience store near me.... or near enough to me.

Something crazy just happened to me with my Credit Union. I normally just use my debit card for cash at a bank ATM. I use a credit card for purchases

About 3 months ago I ordered a new debit card because the chip stopped working. I received my new debit card in 5 days. Will call this card 7990

Today I received another new debit card. I thought it was odd Will call this card 0045

I called my credit union and they said card 7990 was my newest debit card. They said card 0045 was issued in 2021 and have no idea why I got that card today

The only thing I can think of is, around 2021 I was in a hurray and used my debit card at a gas station in Texas. Turns out it had a skimmer and unauthorized charges starting popping up on the card.

I'm wondering now if the 0045 credit card was put through by crooks on the black web, hoping I would activate it so they could use it for fraud?
