Fix Hot Spot Tile after Many "secret detail" Permissions Disabled

A week or so ago I noticed that a new app (Android Web Services) which I'd never noticed before had appeared AND some standard Google Play Permissions (or some other similar system app) had REGRANTED ITS OWN PERMISSIONS. I had disabled all the system permissions in the normal "Apps>Permissions" simple access area for system apps 2 weeks before. This angered me that the permission had been reenabled, and that a new app had appeared (along with a top-down pop-up notification of some sort I'd never seen before) -- seemingly only because I'd finally bought and used some mobile data after months of only WI-FI.

Anyway, that the back story of how I decided to go through this new system that seemed to have appeared. I don't know if it was an android update and the system only uses numbers and there is no install date of the current version. Anyway... in this "new system" as I call it (because of the strange notification which I don't remember what it said), I noticed some advanced "enable/disable/draw over/ and other stuff" which I'd never seen before. These are not if the "Apps>Permissions" area, but scattered through other parts of the Settings consol.

So I went through these system apps and anything Google or Huawei, and I disabled pretty much everything in an attempt to prevent unauthorized takeovers of my device by the companies which seemed to have been overstepping their bounds.

Now... here's the problem. It's much simpler:
When you swipe down there is a title area of two rows of icons at the top including such things as "mobile data", "hot spot", "location", "flashlight", etc. These seem to work fine except for the "Hot Spot" tile button.
For some reason, pressing it can not activate the hot spot, nor deactivate the hot spot. Only by going into Settings>Wireless & Networks>Hot Spot can it be turned on or off.

The question is, Which of the many deep in settings (Not in Apps>Permissions) have I disabled which knocked this HotSpot Tile out of service. Is is google play services, is it Huawei services, is it something else. Does anybody know?

If that still doesn't make sense, I'll try one more set of words:
What connects the titles from the swipe down menu to the hot-spot setting. Did I disable "Can write to system settings" for something which should have that ability, or another ability? I don't know. Do you?

Paint chipping

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. The paint on the recessed area on my middle camera sensor just came off from while wiping it with a micro fiber cloth. There were no hard particles on the phone or cloth when I did it. I would suggest being careful with it. I have been told to go to a Samsung certified technician to see if a warranty repair could be done to replace the back. This is my second S21 Ultra already so At&t would not do another buyer remorse exchange. The first one I received had a metal shaving under the camera glass when I opened it. I am having horrible luck with this phone.

Formats, formats, formats

I think one of the reasons I may be having trouble with some of these ebook files is/are the format(s). The Moto G (and Nook) can handle pdf and epub just fine, but djvu and cbz/r are another matter. I don't know how to convert them, or whether I should. Some of the files don't work at all, and some disappear as I try to read them.

AUB9 update for Global S21 Ultra, bugfix & camera update

Hot on the heels of the AUB8 release for the S21 5G and S21+, it is the turn of the S21 Ultra to receive some more of Samsung's love.

This latest update is the 6th for the Global, Exynos, S21 Ultra, SM-G998B, and is its 3rd February update and is currently being rolled out by Samsung.

It would appear, like its two companion devices, that this is a bugfix for the previous release, AUB6, as well as a camera update.

The Galaxy S21 Global, Exynos, device that will receive this update is...
  • S21 Ultra model SM-G998B
This latest release replaces the G99*BXXU1AUB6 February build.

Initially, as always, this is rolling out to the non-carrier branded, stock Samsung CSC codes first.

It is a FOTA, (Firmware Over The Air), update and you can check... Settings > Software update... to see if it is available for you

The update = G99*BXXU1AUB9

Download = 229.14MB

Build date = 15 February 2021

Release date = 17 February 2021

Camera version = 11.0.02.58

One UI version = 3.1

Android Security patch = February 2021

This is the 6th stable update in 21 days

Help Google Voice Assistant constantly popping up and changing song when plugged in to aux cord

Hi, this is a really strange issue that I've been having recently that's only gotten worse. When I plug in my phone to the aux cord in my car, it starts changing the song and a song won't play for more than a few seconds before moving on to the next one. When I tried to play music from Spotify, a pop up was coming up that said something along the lines of "How would you like to complete this action?" with the options of Google and Bixby. I've had this phone for over two years and this has never happened. I finally just clicked Google after about 2 months of this and it just made everything worse. Before, it would usually stop being buggy after a minute but now I can't even listen to music in my without the song changing every few seconds and the Google Assistant Voice Activation popping up every time it hears the slightest sound, so even the few enjoyable seconds of music I get are interrupted by Google Assistant. I tried changing Google Assistant's settings so that it couldn't send me notifications since I don't use it much anyway, but that didn't work. Is there anything I can do?

LG K10 unidentified alert

My LG K10 randomly sounds an alert (the phone's default notification sound) but I can't figure out what app is sounding it. It's not text, voicemail or any other that I can find, and scrolling through the phone's apps and checking the notfication that is set for each doesn't indicate anything either. How can I figure out where this alert is coming from?

Golden rule of thumb I always had..

After reading it many years ago, of charing the cellphone, usually with my Moto Edge Plus.
I can get away two or three days without charging it much, and I do play Rusty Lake Video games on it every once a spell, stream Voltron, Mr. Robot, Alias, or whatever on it whenever I feel like it, but it feels like an "away t.v." but it also helps, I am also when getting a bit wee intel, like always, stripping myself emotionally less from my semi-flat but bulky big screen away from my home, also comp, (Well get notifications via email.)
I always feel free from my home.

And head over to whomever next home too.
That really great feeling, well all of us has taken it for granted.
Be free from the cords and chores.

Turning off permissions of other apps

Hello

I am wondering if its possible to turn off permissions granted in other apps from within my app. e.g. The camera app has been given location permission. I want to if its possible that i then turn off this permission not from the settings but from within my custom app without rooting the phone. There are apps on playstore that are doing this without rooting or using any extra permissions. I am wondering how those apps are working. Please any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks

My question is will the huwawei kepp all my apps etc on it or will this get automatically deleted?

FLX - Android visual scripting app

With free FLX app for Android you can create scripts and applications, even with UI screens, that use various APIs (e.g. HTTP, File, JSON, IFTTT, Sensors, Android APIs, and BeanShell) to carry out defined functions or tasks. Applications and UIs are defined with easy-to-use but powerful visual programming language that have similar functions to Kotlin.

App's home page: https://floxp.app
Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flx

Under to hood, FLX is based on a Lisp variant, which I have just open sourced: https://github.com/Fuusio/flx-lisp
