I need a screen that works in the rain. I don't mean that it's waterproof. I mean that the raindrops don't make it go haywire and I can still use it even if there are drops dripping down the screen. Any ideas??

Disclaimer, I got the S20 Plus for free to review/post about. So trading it in now doesn't represent a financial burden. Add I LOVE(D) owning a phone outright. So I would trade-in and still buy outright, meaning 500(ish) out of pocket.

Is there enough to justify getting the Ultra if it essentially is only costing me $500?

I'm half blind, android Accessibility screen reader "select to speak" feature (definitely not the TalkBack) helps me IMMENSELY by reading almost everything for me, web, apps, most images, etc... The only problem is, how annoying the voices options there are, they're all horrible. I have a Gen 9 kindle Fire 7" tablet, the voices are PERFECT, I could easily read a whole book in 1 day with their voices, but their only "VoiceView" option to read for me is HORRIBLE, next to useless. Is there any way to mis those 2 together on either Fire OS or Android OS?

My Verizon Pixel 4a 5G has a frustrating issue. While I am on a longer phone call, it sometimes mutes my end of the conversation. To be clear, the MUTE button is NOT activated. It is just the callers suddenly can't hear me even though I can hear them. When I look at my screen the phone call is not in the foreground. All I see is a little circle with the callers picture. If I click on the picture I get a drop down menu. One option is "Go back to call" When I click on that the other party can hear me again. the entire time this is going on, I can hear them. This always happens when I am holding my phone to my face but once again I am NOT accidently pushing the MUTE button because it is not activated. Is this a setting I need to change?

I have a directory full of webloc bookmarks, is it possible to open them up in an android browser when I click on these files?

Hello. I have an S10+
During a recent scan I noticed an app called Your Phone Companion, which I'd never seen before and never installed myself.

My question is, does this app come pre-installed on Android phones and I just never noticed it before? Or did it get pushed out with a software update? I know it's a legitimate Windows app, but I never installed it and I don't want it on my phone. I also noticed that when I went to the app list and clicked on this app, there's no option to uninstall it, only a 'force stop' button. Should I be concerned? And how can I get this app off my phone?

Significant other smashed yet again, another phone. Demanded mine (an LGL455DL) and now is trying to say I was supposedly messaging people that I know for a fact I wasn't and than stated "that's not what the Recovery Data says on this phone". I'm beyond fed up with the nonsense. Wth is this Recovery Data? How reliable is it and im assuming he probably downloaded some tool on his laptop and then plugged the phone in. Possibly some form of ADB? Either way, he's been messing with all of my electronics and I've had about enough of it now. Anybody have any precautionary measures to help protect my shit from his tamperings too?

I am getting an error when attempting to start an emulated device from AVD.

java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to create Debug Bridge: Unable to start adb server: error: protocol fault (couldn't read status): No error
'C:\Android\Sdk\platform-tools\adb.exe start-server' failed -- run manually if necessary

Some suggestions I've received from the community so far:
1. Running adb start-server command manually
2. Reinstalling platform-tools both standalone and from SDK manager
3. Reinstalling Android Studio
4. Reinstalling Java
5. Restarting computer

None of these options seem to be solving my problem. I've tried disabling my Firewall and adding inbound rules for the executable and port that adb runs on, but still no luck.

Does anyone have any idea on what I can do to resolve this issue? I'm a little tired right now so if you need any additional information please let me know.

I have a layout with imageview and tablelayout. The app works fine except that i cant zoom in / out of the screen. The screen stays on fixed size when i try zooming by hand.

The notification tone rings frequently, but doesn't seem related to app of function I can find. Rings once, at least every couple of minutes now.

I normally have "priority only" set for my calls, and I haven't intentionally asked for sound notification for anything (not texts, emails, FB, nothing). But this maddening sound rings frequently now. How do I get it to stop?!?

I strongly suspect we are up the proverbial creek.

A couple months ago our puppy decided to make my wife's S8 into a chew toy. Though we got to it fairly fast, it was not before the screen was punctured through. The phone subsequently entirely discharged.

Though the touch screen no longer responds, i am able to communicate by plugging a USB keyboard into the phone; i can get a partial charge in, then connect the keyboard. Problem is, now when i bring it up it wants a password, which my wife does not recall. We have 6 attempts remaining.

She never transferred a couple year's worth of pictures that we would like to recover, but without the password, we can not unlock the phone to be able to enable data transfer over USB.

Shy of the NSA, are there any solutions out there?

Phone hacked by getting device info before I got it handed to me by my exs gf and stole my idenity its now compromised on the dark web she controls my phone basically linked to her labtop and spy's deletes personal info and and stolen financial data etc. how do I stop this . . she is dangerous but has connections with computer techs. I constantly get robo/ spam/ spoof calls. IV tried to download apps at no avail. need help im not so much computer savvy. should I just get rid of my device.

I don't use the standard Samsung charging cable for a couple of reasons - it's too short and it's old and worn out, so it won't work no matter what. Since I find the standard cable is useless due to being much too short, instead of wasting money on another cable that will be too short and wear out, I use a non-standard longer cable that works and when it wears out, I buy another.

At this time my cable is wearing out and I've placed another on order. Thus, I depend on the pop-up message that shows my phone is no longer properly charging.

Except the last time I went to hit the "ok," my finger grazed the "do not show this message again" checkbox as I went to tap okay and now I can't find where to turn the message box back on. Which means my phone ends up not charging and I don't know it until everything starts shutting down, no matter how diligent I am about checking. Since Android doesn't have a convenient indicator that shows it's not actually charging, all I can do is see if the percentage is going up or down.

The closest thing I could find was under Settings/Apps/Battery/Charging, but there is NO option for that message. The only options under that are: "Fast charging" and "Fast wireless charging."

Please tell me how to find where the message is stored so I can uncheck that box. Thanks in advance.
