Hi, i am not sure if this issue is device specific or software specific or what. I have a Sony Xperia XZs with Oreo which works nicely for almost everything. I was sad to see the old Sony messaging app go, to be replaced by Google's "messages", which works okay but not as well as the one from Sony. Anyway, I always set my phone in Flight mode at night, to be undisturbed by calls or notifications, but there is a weird thing: Text messages don't come through, but other media messages such as when someone sends photos, do get through and cause a notification which is very disturbing. I tried turning on both flight mode and "do not disturb" but there is still a silent notification with a flashing light when the media message arrives. This is freaking me out. Does flight mode not work?? I always hav Wifi and 4G data turned off when I don't use them, so that shouldn't be causing any troubles either. I always thought that flight mode was supposed to really turn off all hardware connectivity, but it seems it is only turning off notifications (except media notifications apparently). This is really freakish.
Anyone any ideas?

I'm having an issue with my Huawei Honor 7x. Whenever I have the volume set to higher than 20-30% while watching a video or listening an audio file, the phone instantly restarts. If I use headphones however, I can put the audio to max volume without any issues.

The issue started after I replaced my previous battery which was bloated. The repair place put in a wrong battery twice, while the third battery used was a correct Honor 7x battery. The issue was present on the 2nd battery as well as on the current third battery.

Besides the battery change, nothing else has been altered as far as I'm aware. I have my phone rooted for what it's worth. I did a factory reset but the problem persists. Did the repair shop mess up my phone somehow when changing the battery or could something else be causing the issue?

I'd greatly appreciate any help.

about a month ago, gboard beta started doing this. it's incredibly fukking annoying. the majority of time, when using voice dictation, it will generate the full word 'period', instead of the punctuation symbol. this makes it so I have to go back in every voice message I make and delete and change. so incredibly annoying.

does anyone know an alternate way to voice dictate 'period' symbol ? or a setting within gboard to fix this? it's completely driving me mad. gboard never used to do this until about a month ago.

Figured I'd give it a go!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 I545 running Android 5.0.1 (Baseband version I545VRSGPL1). My carrier has been Verizon, but I recently switched to AT&T. After switching the SIM card and updating the APN, I can do MMS messages, calls, data, and receive SMS messages. However, I cannot send SMS messages.

From browsing other forum posts, this seems to be an issue from the SMSC number. I've tried the settings within the default Messaging app and the keypad *#*#4636#*#* within the Phone app, but neither give me the ability to see nor edit the SMSC number.

Is there another way to edit the SMSC number? Do I have to root the phone to edit it? Could this be caused by anything else? Would a factory reset restore the Messaging app to a previous state where I could edit the SMSC number?

I have a POCO phone F2 Pro and I need to be able to connect through ethernet and set Static Ip for ethernet connection..

I am using a usb c to ethernet adapter. WHen i plug in the ethernet cable on the adapter I have internet without problems out of the box.. I didn't need to do anything as it worked directly..
The problem is that once i connect the ethernet cable to my phone, I don't see any ethernet option in the settings menu of the phone.. I have searched all over the phone settings, i have enabled developer options but nothing...

Please could someone help me on this ? How can i make the ethernet option appear on the settings menu so that I can then set static Ip on the ethernet connection???

Got a new phone a couple of weeks ago a Samsung A21S, Android File Transfer was already installed and working on my Mac. The A21S connected a couple of times but has now stopped. The Mac can see my phone (looked in system info and it there ok).
Tried different cables (which have worked in the past)
Tried airdroid, thats a complete PITA!

When the cable was connected the phone does not come up with the screen below. I have spent half a day looking for info on this and it's driving me kin mad!!!!!
Any help appreciated.
