Hey, I took the plunge and got the Samsung A20S. I don't know if I can really afford it but it's a huge relief after that icon piece of crap. Now I just have to figure out what vpn to use with public wifi. I might not ever have a sim card. Also, what case and screen protector should I get?

It's probably a simple fix but I've never actually inquired about it and I can't find any information on the brief searches that I've done but when I hold my button to turn my volume all the way down to silent, it will stop at the lowest volume level. Not silent but the lowest volume level and not go any further unless I tap it. I have to tap the volume button to get it to go all the way down to turn sound off. I also have to tap it multiple times to get it out of silent mode. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Hi everyone. I am concerned that my phone is hacked. I'm not sure if I'm paranoid. I have two other user accounts [for business whatsapp] on my motorola z2 force, both used by me. I switch between accounts once in a while.

1) a small tape recording symbol like this appeared and disappeared within seconds when I opened and scrolled the chats of the second and third whatsapp accounts. I am concerned that the device / WhatsApp was being recorded. I have kaspersky and AVG anti-virus installed and there was nothing flagged. Am I being paranoid?

2) within about 10 days of noticing this, my device has gone dead. It turns on and off continuously and does not boot up at all. My device is quite old, since april 2018 to september 2020, and battery life was already starting to decline, shutting off at about 20% often.

I feel a bit uneasy about this situation. I wonder if its actually possible to hack or remotely view the contents of the device in some way. Can you guys offer me some advice?

Hello, I have just registered and I am putting this thread here because my question is this:
I got my free government phone about 10 years ago, when I was pretty much a homeless street musician, and it is an ANS UL40 (that's battery lasts about 2 hours just sitting there, unplugged) I am wondering what kind of phone I could pay for myself, which I could then continue using through Assurance; but one that would have better camcorder better microphones than the ANS, which is probably circa 2012

It seems to me that all the phones I have found for sale online all come along with some kind of data plan and they are already hard-wired to work through some "carrier." One which is not sprint/virgin mobile.

I get 3 gigs of data per month free through Assurance, and so I want to buy a nicer phone and then switch it over to Assurance so I will have the same phone number and the same free voice and data (hotspot) but I am afraid of buying a phone that can only be used through T-mobile but not Boost or through Verizon but not PC Metro or Virgin?
So, just to throw this question out there; where can you get a nice phone and then choose your own carrier? For under 200 bucks

I have a blu g90 only had for a couple of months Android 10 needed to do a security update so I allowed it phone was new to me shortly after screen froze phone crashed and restarted itself. Since then the square button on bananas bar which usually calls up your recent apps window or recent windows whatever you want to call it but no longer functions that way so essentially has no function anymore. However in gesture mode does the function not sure it's functioning properly although it's kind of hinky and you can only call up a couple of windows but that may be all that's running. So only on the buttons navbar does it not function any ideas? If it matters at the same time my SD card set up as internal memory stopped allowing migration of data or apps can't even migrate all the data that it has on their back to the main phone storage to reformat it as file storage. And according to phone I have two storage is the same amount of storage that is on both the internal phone storage and on the SD card individually. However I have another thread for that but trying to restore recent app functionality without a reset may end up having to do reset anyway but will take at least a whole day to reinstall upwards of 300 apps and to log into them and set them back up and then a week of working out things settings I didn't get initially so any alternatives for restoring functionality to the recent apps square button otherwise it's essentially a dead button and when I tried calling up recent apps to Nova Launcher Gestures does not work only way you can free synapse works is with launcher3 which was the default launcher on this phone not Google Now

Does anyone make on that doesn't come on auto-magically? So many times I'm walking around and someone says "hey there's a light on in your pocket". It would be great to have one that takes a long press to activate. I've actually had to move the app from my front page because of this...

So I’m reading and studying all about the privacy I lack, and was ready to flash GraphineOS but I happened across an episode of Techlore about CalyxOS.

I thought I’d do more research and thought this was a good place but I haven’t found ONE mention of it here.

Does anyone have any information or experience on it?

Before I updated to Android 11 my USB-C charger built in my car would almost fully charge my phone on my commute to home ~20 min. After the update, it barley inches 1-2%. Seem to just power my phone.

Any way of going back?

I just got my Moto g7 power a couple of days ago. I see that when I'm in my app drawer, there is a file manager called "Files", but I can't access it. There is another "Files" by Google also. That one seems to be taking over, and uses itself to play my mp3 files. Yes, it's weird, the "files" app is a media player too, and I've confirmed that by shutting down the files app, and the music stops.
I've added a different media player, and reset the preferences, and it says "No defaults set" under "Other defaults". I don't know why I can't set my own default media player. Please help if you know the secret! Thank you.

Is it possible for a Floating Window to programmatically fire the paste event when the input is active in another app?

I really want to find a way to take some data from within the app and paste it into another app (e.g. a notepad application)
