hi I have to re-register my Samsung account. I know my email address and password, and both are correct. nevertheless he wants me to enter the code. Now it goes to my old cell phone number that I no longer have ... as an alternative, I can choose to enter the code that I received when setting up. but I don't have this anymore either ... what can I do to get around this?

Help No way to delete a single phone call entry

Running Android 8 on Moto e5 Play. I bring up my phone call log where I see tons of calls I have received. I run the regular phone app that came on the phone. I want to delete at least one of those call entries and do not want to remove all the entries in the log. I can find no way to delete a single call entry. On my son's Android (10?) and his wife's Android (7?) there is a "delete" option to delete a single entry, but on my phone the "delete" is missing from the list of options I can pick from the drop-down menu. My drop-down menu contains one less option than what is on my son's drop-down, and the missing option is "delete". Both my son and I also run Hiya app but that app does not give us the option to delete a single phone log entry. Using ATT service, btw.

Apps Android Studio - App closes when you press the main button even thought the code is working fine !

Tried many methods by changing the code, but it closes every time I press the "Try" button. You can find the Design, XML & Java code below. Also Android Studio is up to date.

Migrate to AndroidX

Hello everyone ... I start by saying that I'm rincoxxxnendo .... my apps worked so well with the target sdk 27 ... now playstore wants to break the attributes by forcing the target sdk 29.
So to switch to target sdk 29, you need to request the migration to AndroidX (using the appropriate button on the menu).
After the necessary checks, android studio migrates the entire project to AndroidX ... the problem now is that my applications no longer work on the cell with api level 29 (ie Samsung s10), .. while they seem to work perfectly with android systems up to 28 ...
Are there any well-made guides to make the migration happen? what am I doing wrong? is it enough to download api 29 on android studio and migrate? or need to manually fix something else ????

Help Cast question

Q1. I am using a philips smart tv saphi and the TV is connected to home wifi. My PC is connected to the same home internet. When I play a youtube video in my PC browser, I saw a new button [cast to tv] under every youtube video appeared automatically. I think all devices connected to my home internet would have the ability to cast the device screen to TV. How can I disable the TV casting function? I do not want any device to cast any video/media to the TV.

Q2. How do I check if my PC is currently casting anything to the TV? (able to use PC only, without looking at the TV)

Help Recommend a program that makes reminders more visible and fixed

I want a program that will plug into Google Calendar but will be more in your face with reminders and remain constant on the phone display until finally dismissed and cleared. Regrettably, I have missed a few Google calendar reminders recently, and I want to stop that from continuing to happen. I dont mind paying for a one-off app, but I am not keen on on-going subscriptions. Hope someone can advise. Thanks

editing files on a nas and then saving back to nas

First post here.

My wife wants to migrate to a tablet (from PC) however all her data is on the local Nas.
I can access the files on the NAS but cant save back to it (NAS)
They appear to be saved in the cloud depending on the app used ie google docs for EG
I would prefer they be saved back to the original location

Is there any way to do this? (easily, she is not tech savvy)

While I'm at it any recommendations re apps to do modifying of existing word documents on the NAS

Android App Detect when two phones touch

So I am making an app which needs to detect when two phones are close (1-2meters or less) and transmit some small amount of information (some strings and such).

I have been looking at the Google Nearby Connections API. But i cant limit that to just work when the phones are within 1-2 meters. And it also drains a lot of battery and both of the phones need to both Advertise and Discover at once.

Does anybody here know how I could do it? Something like NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy or??

I am wondering what you guys use to clean your android phone? I have the free version of SDMaid and CCleaner, but CCleaner is very bloated now, but it cleans more than the Pro version of SDMaid... so are there any other cleaners you prefer?

I know most of you will say none, but I'm very OCD with my files directories like empty folders, cache, hidden cache, and other useless folders/files taking up space.

What is this app "Wi-fi Tips"?

After the latest system update from Verizon, my Note 8 has started displaying an error message, "Wi-Fi Tips keeps stopping". I did not install this app. It does not show up on my Apps screen. In Settings/Apps, it appears in the list, but it cannot be force stopped. There is no option to uninstall it. It says "App downloaded from Galaxy Store", but I cannot find that app in that store.

What"s a good choice for nongooey maps? Most of the time I don"t really need one but now and then. This would be a great chance to insert a shameless plug for Be Expert with Map and Compass. (I didn"t write it.) I believe the author is actually Bjorn Kjellstrom. Yes, Virginia, there is an alternative to following googoo into a swamp. It"s better for the brain, too.
